Shipping and Receiving Manager

We are seeking an experienced Shipping and Receiving Manager to oversee and manage our shipping and receiving departments.

About the Position: 

The Shipping and Receiving Manager will oversee and manage our shipping and receiving department’s operation along with General Stores and Trim receiving. Ensures all outbound orders are processed accurately, efficiently and issued from inventory and all inbound orders are of quality, accurate, and properly recorded for inventory.

 

Responsibilities 

Supervision and Leadership: Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of shipping/receiving personnel, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure high performance and adherence to company standards. 

Shipping/Receiving Coordination: Works with supervisors to coordinate outgoing/incoming shipments, ensuring accurate picking, packing, and shipping of orders according to customer requirements and shipping schedules. Receipts are of correct product, counts and quality. 

Inventory Management: Oversee inventory control processes, monitor stock levels, conduct regular audits, and collaborate with the warehouse team to maintain accurate inventory records. 

Quality Assurance: Implement and maintain quality control measures to ensure products are packaged securely, labeled correctly, and shipped accurately. Develop/Maintain receipt inspection process. 

Logistics Optimization: Optimize shipping and receiving processes to improve efficiency, reduce shipping/receiving costs, and enhance overall logistics operations. 

Compliance and Documentation: Ensure compliance with shipping/receiving regulations, prepare shipping/receiving documents, and handle customs clearance procedures for international shipments. 

Performance Tracking: Track and analyze shipping/receiving metrics, prepare performance reports, and recommend improvements to enhance departmental efficiency and productivity. 

Communication and Collaboration: Collaborate with internal teams (such as production, customer service, and logistics) to streamline processes, resolve issues, and ensure seamless order fulfillment. 

 

Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience). 
  • Proven experience (3-5 years) in a shipping or logistics role within a manufacturing environment, with 3 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity. 
  • In-depth knowledge of shipping/receiving processes, inventory management, and logistics operations. 
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team. 
  • Proficiency in using shipping/receiving software/systems (e.g., UPS, FedEx, ERP systems) and excellent computer skills within the Microsoft Suite application. 
  • Exceptional organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills. 
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
