A counterweight built into the frame assists the lifting of the tabletop to the upright position, making flipping a large round table something a single staff member can accomplish smoothly and without strain. A two knob design requires both hands for safe operation of the folding mechanism, protecting anyone nearby when the table is in motion. Double locking 3 inch casters lock both wheel rotation and pivot axis, so the table stays exactly where it is placed until a staff member decides to move it. All critical structural parts are attached to the unitized frame rather than to the tabletop, so the table holds its integrity through years of daily deployment and storage cycles.

PHlip™ is built to the standards that school and campus furniture must meet to perform through years of heavy use. The 60 inch round tabletop uses 1 and one eighth inch industrial grade particleboard for the additional strength a large unsupported round top requires, and all other sizes use 3/4 inch M3 industrial grade particleboard. Tops are tested in accordance with ANSI 208.1 to 2022, certified under EPA TSCA Title IV, and comply with CARB ATCM 93120. SMARTedge is standard, a poured urethane edge with antimicrobial and antifungal additives and 60 percent renewable bio-based material content that resists the food, moisture, and mechanical stress that a round table in a school dining environment encounters every day. The frame receives a baked on lightly textured polyester powder coat for superior resistance to abrasion, marring, and scratching. PHlip™ is UL Listed to UL Standard 2040 and has earned both GREENGUARD and GREENGUARD Gold Certification, confirming low chemical emissions for the indoor environments where students and staff gather.
