The Stool Table (60T) in Action
Introducing the Stool Table (60T)
Palmer Hamilton designed the 60T Stool Table to fit snugly next to each other for minimal storage footprint. Built with quality and storage efficiency in the school cafeteria stool table category, combining premium frame construction, torsion assisted lifting, and the Double Guard anti tip system into a product that serves students safely and folds flat to a fraction of its deployed footprint. This stool cafeteria table delivers the engineering performance and material quality that foodservice directors, facilities managers, and architects expect from a workhorse product that will see daily use for a decade or more.
Details
The 60T is built around minimizing space and provide a high quality lifting frame design that makes it genuinely easy to operate, even at the end of a long school day. Torsion bars and compression springs work together to provide durable lift assistance throughout the complete folding and unfolding range, so the table opens and closes smoothly from the first use to the last. Center latches are accessible from either side of the table, saving time during setup and storage. Two stage latches provide a safety stop and a secure in use position, and the storage latch locks the table in the upright position for safe transport to and from the storage area. End leg assemblies with center wheels offer superior weight distribution across the six 4 inch Poly II gray rubber ball bearing swivel casters that support the table during transport.
What makes the 60T exceptional among school cafeteria stool tables is the combination of its flat folding capability and the Double Guard anti tip system that makes that capability safe. The Double Guard device allows the table to fold flat with the tops parallel, a configuration that minimizes storage space while eliminating the tipping risk that parallel top storage creates in other folding table designs. Two tables in the stored position should occupy an area of 70-1/2” wide x 54” long. Each additional table adds 18-3/4” to the stacked length, making the 60T one of our most storage efficient stool cafeteria tables. Patented wave top versions are available in 10 foot and 12 foot lengths for cafeterias where table profile adds to the room’s visual character.
The 60T is constructed from the highest quality materials Palmer Hamilton specifies for its cafeteria table line. Tabletop construction uses three quarter inch M3 industrial grade particleboard, tested in accordance with ANSI 208.1 to 2022 and certified under EPA TSCA Title IV, compliant with CARB ATCM 93120. High pressure laminate on the tabletop provides superior abrasion resistance that meets and exceeds NEMA specifications. EdgeGuard™, Palmer Hamilton’s sprayed on polyurea edge treatment, is standard on all 60T models, protecting tabletop edges from moisture, food traps, peeling, and chipping through years of student use. All metal parts receive a thorough cleaning before an electrostatically applied, lightly textured polyester powder coat baked on for superior resistance to abrasion, marring, and scratching. The 60T carries UL GREENGUARD Certification for low chemical emissions, confirming compliance with key indoor air quality standards for the school and cafeteria environments where students eat and spend their days. Palmer Hamilton builds the 60T in Elkhorn, Wisconsin, and backs it with a standard warranty, because the facilities teams and students who depend on these spaces deserve furniture that delivers on its promises year after year. Benefits
Maximum Storage Efficiency in a School Ready Package
Three 60T tables nest together in less than a 6 foot by 6 foot footprint, with each additional table adding only 18.5 inches to the nested width, recovering corridor and gymnasium floor space that competing cafeteria stool table designs cannot match. The flat folding capability enabled by the patented Double Guard system provides compact storage without introducing the tipping risk that parallel top folding creates in products without an anti tip device.
Premium Construction That Justifies the Specification
The 60T’s tabletop particleboard carries EPA TSCA Title IV certification, CARB ATCM 93120 compliance, and ANSI 208.1 to 2022 test compliance, giving purchasing agents, administrators, and specifiers the material documentation that school procurement requires. End leg assemblies with center wheels, a torsion bar and compression spring lift system, and all welded construction combine to produce a table that performs dependably under the daily demands of high use school dining.
Flexible Height and Configuration for Every Cafeteria
Available in 25 inch, 27 inch, 29 inch, and 30 inch heights across 8 foot, 10 foot, and 12 foot lengths, the 60T serves every student population from middle school through secondary and adult programs without requiring a different product family for each height requirement. The 12 foot wheelchair accessible model accommodates multiple wheelchair placements and is factory configured at the factory, ensuring a clean, professional result that meets accessibility requirements without field modification.
Features
Double Guard Anti Tip System
The Double Guard non tip device allows the 60T to fold flat with tops parallel for minimum storage space requirement while actively preventing the table from tipping during transport. The device is permanent, fixed, and not adjustable, so it cannot be disabled, and the Double Guard casters do not contact the floor during normal operation but assist in rolling the table safely over doorway thresholds and other floor obstructions.
End Leg Assemblies with Center Wheels
The 60T’s end leg assemblies include center wheels that provide superior weight distribution across the table’s six 4 inch Poly II gray rubber ball bearing swivel casters during transport, making it safer and more stable to move than tables that rely solely on standard caster placement. Leg assemblies are gas metal arc welded construction and are capped with non marking black crutch tips in the in use position.
EdgeGuard™ Edge Treatment
EdgeGuard™ is Palmer Hamilton’s sprayed on polyurea edge treatment that provides superior resistance to moisture, eliminates unsanitary food traps, and is extremely tamper resistant, keeping tabletop edges sealed and intact through years of institutional daily use. Standard black EdgeGuard™ coordinates with all 60T frame finishes; six nonstandard colors are available with applicable upcharges.
