Material Handler – 1st and 2nd Shift

This position is responsible for setting up workstations with the correct and necessary components to meet the production schedule.

Position Objective: 

 To set up each station with the correct and necessary components for the trimmers/welders/machine operators to complete orders and meet the production schedule.  

 

Position Functions: 

  • To move material and product throughout the department as directed. 
  • Required to be familiar with the daily production schedule. 
  • Set up stations timely and accurately for trim/weld/fab teams. 
  • Must be willing and able to learn the inventory control scanning system to maintain accurate records of inventory, tools, fixtures, and supplies. 
  • Must learn basic functions of trimmer position to be able to substitute in if needed. 
  • Responsible for minor maintenance and construction of equipment as needed in your department. 

 

Position Expectations: 

  • Must be able to watch for defects in components while setting up and raise quality issues to team leader immediately. 
  • Required to participate in communication to co-workers, team leader, and supervisor in a timely manner as issues arise. 
  • Willingness to be a team player and perform various other jobs in department as management indicates. 
  • Able to work with all members of the department to assure established production rates and schedules are achieved. 
  • A high level of attention to detail is essential. 

 

Qualifications: 

  • Must be willing to become Forklift certified. 
  • Demonstrated proficiency in operating basic power hand tools such as: rivet gun, screw gun, impact, and drill. 
  • Ability to regularly lift and carry up to 50 lbs. 
  • Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) necessary. 
  • Strong verbal communication skills with all departments and ability to problem solve is essential. 
  • Organizational and time management skills are a must.
